As the star of Christian Dior’s spring 2018 campaign, model Sasha Pivovarova brought more than just her other worldly looks to the table. Pivovarova, who opened the show wearing jeans and a striped shirt that read “Why have there been no great women artists” (the title of an essay by Linda Nochlin) showed off her artistic skills posing around sketches of women’s faces (some may say in Pivovarova’s likeness) painted by the model herself.

“I’ve been a creator all my life. I’ve been painting and doing art as long as I remember myself,” Pivovarova tells ELLE.com. “All my work is dedicated to the power of the woman. The world has been extremely harsh and male dominated for thousands of year—now is a time for women to come forward to balance the situation with compassion and intuition.”

To celebrate the launch of the new campaign, Pivovarova recreated her sketches on a grander scale in a three-walled installation titled Life Session in New York City.

“I see everything as a canvas and have been interested in working on large scale installations for quite some time now,” she says. ELLE.com got a sneak peek at the art piece and took The Fashion Guitar’s, Charlotte Groeneveld, along for the ride. Here, the influencer models stand out looks from the collection.
